If you find that you need to handle a loved one's affairs and they have not made a Lasting or Enduring Power of Attorney, there is still help available.
You can apply to the Court of Protection for an Order naming you as a Deputy (similar role to that of an Attorney under an LPA). You can also ask the Court to make decisions and create a Will for your loved one if they have not made provision for tax planning, or the Will they have at the moment is no longer sufficient.
